On Monday, April 16th Stephen Rothman will be presenting on the topic of early stage funding as part of the National Council of Entrepreneurial Technology Transfer’s (NCET2’s) Research Commercialization Introductory Course. Mr. Rothman will present information on the typical sources of start-up financing including bootstrapping, raising money from family and friends, SBIR grants, angel investing and venture capital financing. Company structures . Mr. Rothman will also briefly touch on the securities laws involved in start-up company financing.

As part of the National Council of Entrepreneurial Technology Transfer’s (NCET2′s) Research Commercialization Introductory Course Stephen Rothman will be presenting on the topic of employment and consulting agreements in university start-up companies. Mr. Rothman will discuss the ways in which academic researchers are able to maintain their status as full-time employees with the university while also working with the university start-up company. Topics will also include the impact of Stanford v Roche on the assignment of intellectual property and strategies for hiring early stage employees.
